The following recording was made on my phone with a couple of very lovely friends of mine. We were preparing this song to play at the end of a set to round out a mini-festival at a yoga studio I was teaching at.
I often find myself grateful for these simple moments where I don’t have to perform and can take it easy with some friends and let the music be however it is without aiming for perfection. it’s like listening to the sound of the ocean as the waves lap up against the entire length of the beach. It’s this wonderful wash of sound that isn’t trying to be anything; it simply is.

Finding rest isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to fight for it. Other times it hits you like a brick wall. Life will bring you unexpected moments that challenge and change you in ways you never would have dreamed. Lean in to those moments, and do your best to learn to make the most of what comes your way. Often, when these seasons of change and turmoil come around you may find yourself feeling tired or down or overwhelmed. This is when it is the most important to find a way to let your eyes settle and to give your body, mind, and spirit a chance to rejuvenate.
